Project Details

Following a highly competitive international selection process, IPW was appointed as part of a best in class consortium led by AFL Architects to deliver an Outline Business Case (OBC) for the redevelopment of Iceland’s Laugardalsvöllur National Stadium.

Working to a team including KSÍ (the Icelandic FA) and local and national governments, the team delivered detailed and rounded advice on long-term stadium solutions befitting Iceland’s incredible football passion.

IPW’s work included a recommendation of the optimum stadium capacity based on extensive demographic and spectator/ attendance benchmark analysis, and then the development of long-term P&L projections for a series of development options and key scenarios and sensitivities to determine the best model.

We also advised on the governance, stadium management structures and funding options, together with completing a high-level economic impact assessment.
