Project Details
IPW… was appointed by Glasgow Ice Centre (GIC), a Scottish Charitable Organisation, to undertake a feasibility study to determine the viability for a new ice facility in Glasgow.
As part of this appointment we investigated the national, regional and local ice market and engaged with National Governing Bodies as well as local sports teams/ groups that could be applicable to the project. Using this information alongside discussions with our client we explored the suitability of three scales of ice facility, through business planning, design development, capital costs as well as their individual funding and delivery potential.
This work concluded that the most suitable facility would be a Twin Pad facility which included a dedicated curling pad. IPW… are currently supporting GIC in sourcing an operator and suitable location for the facility within the city centre.
