IPW… advised Derby City Council on the potential to deliver a sustainable entertainment and cultural facility in the city – options explored included 400, 1,700 and 2,500 capacity venues (and complementary spaces such as food and beverage, music development centre, comedy club) in the heart of the city.
The exercise included both public and stakeholder consultation, market analysis, market testing with potential operators, detailed business planning and identifying potential funding solutions.
The project involved the creation of a new venue design proposition providing a lyric theatre style venue that can quickly and efficiently morph into a 3,000 capacity music entertainment venue maximising the traditional theatrical experience alongside the additional revenues from the larger entertainment space.
