Project Details
IPW… led the feasibility study, business case and procurement of an operator for the development of a new music, entertainment, conference and exhibition venue on behalf of Hull City Council.
Overseeing the project from concept to delivery, our work has included analysis of the local and national conference, exhibition and entertainment markets, developing a full business plan, recommendations on the facility mix and proposed delivery mechanism, as part of a detailed feasibility study.
IPW… was retained to deliver a business case and support the Council in developing the funding solution for the £35m capital project.
IPW… subsequently led the operator procurement process; preparing the bid documentation, managing the competitive dialogue procurement process, undertaking bid assessments, negotiating the terms of the deal and securing an operator on behalf of the Council.
IPW… venue planning created the principal design and layout of the venue, which was adopted by the design team. This innovative design solution creates a new model for affordable multi-use venues for the industry.
The venue opened in August 2018, providing a 3,500 capacity music and entertainment venue with accompanying conference/ exhibition capability in the heart of the city.
In August 2023, the arena initally known as the Bonus Arena was renamed Connexin Live after a five-year principal partnership was announced between operators ASM Global and local technology firm Connexin.
