IPW… advised Bristol City Council on the delivery of a major new arena for the city. This included the development of a detailed feasibility study, and subsequent Outline Business Case, for a new venue.
Our work delivered a detailed analysis of regional and national trends in the event/venues industry, catchment demographic analysis, consultation with operators and promoters, and the development of a range of business plan scenarios based around a 12,000 capacity arena.
Based on the emerging financial outcomes, and specific local considerations, we developed the funding mix to unlock the arena.
We also advised the Council on the operator procurement process, with a focus on the competition structure and the provision of detailed, bespoke tender documentation.
We subsequently assisted the Council in analysing bid submissions, up until the selection of a Preferred Bidder in 2014.
